The land of people and passions and hidden treasures to be found
At the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Italy was the most romantic, far away, if not exotic destination for artists, writers and travelers. Sicily was its very colourful and eye-catching South, an imaginary and real escape where to find inspiration, history, a striking nature, archaic rituals and resounding landscapes. “Do you know the land where lemon blossom? – Goethe writes in 1796 – Amid dark leaves the golden orange glows…Might you know it?” More than two centuries later, you might still breath the scent of his memory, the dream is still bright, but behind the cliché, behind the Sicilian cart, the folklore or Dolce and Gabbana’s summerish patterns, there is a land of people and passions and hidden treasures to be found. This is our own dream, to share the luxury of knowing our Sicily, to help you find your quality time here, to open doors, houses and people’s hearts, to live and build memories of your own.
“It is only a landscape, but a landscape where you find everything on earth that seems made to seduce the eyes, the mind and the imagination.” Guy De Maupassant
