Settled on the east coast of Sicily, fifty minutes far from Messina, Taormina is an enchanting resort town that has been charming visitors, expats, artists and intellectuals since 1800. Founded by the Greeks at the foot of one of the highest volcano in Europe, the Mount Etna, in the 4th century BC, Taormina is a mix of greek, byzantine, medieval and bourbon legacies. It is home to the second largest ancient theater in the region.
The well-preserved Teatro Antico is perched atop steep cliffs with an incredible view of the volcano, the beating heart of an incredible and varied natural park where lush vineyards and wheat fields leave the space to flanks covered with lava and lunar landscapes. The coast is as much fascinating with beautiful beaches and the Unesco-protected natural reserve of Isola Bella.
